Introducing Crossroads New Transitional Pastor Len Hjalmarson
Len and his wife Betty began their life together in Chilliwack and have since lived and worked in four cities in the past 25 years, including Kelowna, Cranbrook, and Thunder Bay Ontario and have recently relocated back to Chilliwack. They have two adult daughters, Elise and Lauren, both currently in the Okanagan. Betty spent many years in the nursing profession and worked as a co-pastor with Len. Len is a writer, pastor and part-time professor. He loves the church and believes it is God’s new people, living out for the world a visible picture of shalom, the new creation. He has authored several books, including Missional Spirituality, No Home Like Place: A Christian Theology of Place, The Soul of the City, and Broken Futures: Leaders and Churches Lost in Transition. When not teaching or writing or chilling with a movie Len can be found trying to perfect a bread recipe, reading science fiction, pondering the fluid nature of post-modern culture or enjoying the vistas of the Fraser Valley. We are excited to have Len join our congregation and lead us through a time of transition as we prepare to call a new senior pastor in the coming year.
