Crossroads Community Serve Sunday (Sunday, May 24, 2026)
1. Cyrus Centre highlight and pizza making at VMS
Time: 10:30am-12pm
Location: Vedder Middle School
What to know and expect: Please arrive at Vedder Middle School in the multi-purpose room. Once together, we will hear about the Cyrus Centre Ministry and how our very own Kira and Isabelle Baarda are skydiving to help raise funds for this ministry! After that, we are asking everyone to bring all the sauce and toppings required to make some pizzas for the Cyrus Centre. We will provide the shells, please bring sauce and toppings (Do not bring toppings you cooked on your own). If you are able, try and bring enough toppings for 1 pizza each.
For the kids/infants: There will be no nursery or kidzone provided during this time. We envision the infants and kids serving together with their parents during this time.
What to bring: A cutting board, knife for cutting toppings, pizza toppings, pizza sauce, MasterChef skills.
2. Helping at the Bowls of Hope farm
Time: 10:30am-12pm
Location: 44825 Wolfe Rd, Chilliwack, BC V2P 8A8
What to know and expect: We will be helping with various tasks (planting, moving mulch, weeding, building) appropriate to your skill level around the farm. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, bring some work gloves and be prepared for rain or shine!
*If you are handy, please bring some tools, as they have wood and would like a bench created if we have the people to make it happen.
For the kids/infants: We envision this being a good option for the kids to work outdoors and do tasks with parental supervision. No extra infant or kid supervision will be provided.
What to bring: work gloves, If you feel motivated to build a bench bring tools (drill, screws, nails, saws, hammer, etc.)
